FAQ

Common questions

Do I need to be currently working as an assessor?
You need access to at least one learner to assess as part of your evidence portfolio throughout the programme. Your assessor will guide you on the minimum requirements.
Is the CAVA accepted by all awarding bodies?
Yes — the CAVA is recognised across all major UK awarding organisations including City & Guilds, NCFE, Pearson, TQUK, HABC and more.
Is there a difference between CAVA and the old A1/A2 awards?
Yes — the CAVA is the modern RQF replacement for the legacy A1 and A2 awards. All awarding bodies now accept the CAVA as the current standard.
How long does it take?
Most learners complete within 3–6 months, depending on access to learners and the pace of portfolio evidence collection.
