FAQ

Common questions

Does this allow me to work unsupervised with children?
Yes — Level 3 Early Years Educator status allows you to count in Ofsted ratio requirements as a qualified practitioner in registered early years settings.
Is paediatric first aid included?
No — a separate paediatric first aid certificate is required. You must obtain this from an approved provider alongside or before completing the diploma.
Can I become a reception teacher with this qualification?
No — to teach in a maintained school reception class as a teacher, you need QTS (Qualified Teacher Status). However, this qualification fully qualifies you as an Early Years Practitioner and many EYE graduates work in reception as teaching assistants.
How long does it take?
Typically 12–18 months depending on study pace and the pace of workplace portfolio evidence collection.
